The 1906 Brooklyn marriage certificate of Corinne L. Crown, aged 20, born in Brooklyn, to William E. Aherne names Corinne's father as James Crown and her mother's maiden name as Agnes Fairchild.[1][4]
Death
A search of the German Genealogy Group New York City deaths index for all boroughs returned no death record for Agnes Crown between 1905 and 1935, and James Crown's 1915 death certificate states that he was widowed, indicating that Agnes died before November 1915, possibly before 1905 or outside New York City.[3] One candidate, Agnes F. Crown, a married housewife aged about 46, died on 31 December 1889 at 179 Gold Street in Brooklyn and was buried at Evergreens Cemetery on 2 January 1890, the same cemetery as James Crown's burial in 1915, but the certificate names no husband or parents, so the identification with the wife of James Crown is unproven.[2]
