Desire Denison was born in 1707, according to the Denison Genealogy.[1][5] She was a daughter of Edward Denison and Mercy Denison of Westerly, Rhode Island.[1][2][5]
Marriage and family
Desire Denison married Jabez Smith on November 11, 1736.[1][2] The Smith genealogy records a daughter, Desire, born July 31, 1737, according to Groton records.[3]
Death
The Denison Genealogy gives her death as 1740.[1] Colchester Church records state that Desire, wife of Jabez Smith, died August 8, 1739, at about twenty-six years of age.[1] The age at death implies a birth about 1713, which conflicts with the 1707 birth recorded in the Denison Genealogy.[1]
