Jacob Iglehart (1720 – 1799) was born in Prince George's County, Maryland, USA to Capt. John Iglehart. He married Jane Perry Iglehart. His children were John Iglehart and James Iglehart. He died in 1799.
Early life
Jacob Iglehart was born about 1720, according to a family history that also records a family tradition that he was an emigrant or the son of an emigrant.[1] Jacob Iglehart resided in Prince George's County, Maryland.[1][9]
Marriage and family
Their son John Iglehart was born about 1745 in Prince George's County.[6] Their son James Iglehart was born on 11 March 1752 in Maryland.[7]
Later life and death
Jacob Iglehart of Prince George's County died before 30 January 1799.[2] His 1799 estate inventory names John Igleheart and James Igleheart as nearest of kin, the same two men certified as nearest of kin to the appraisers Walter Bowie and Nathan Soper.[2][4] The estate was administered by his widow, who signed by mark.[3] In 1805 the heirs of a deceased member of the family appointed "our Brother James Igleheart" to receive their distributive shares of Jacob's personal estate, a relationship the records do not yet state.[3] An 1809 receipt in the estate papers records a man receiving "my part of my father's estate", possibly a son of Jacob, though the relationship is unproven.[5] The records spell the surname both as Iglehart and as Igleheart.[1][2][3]
