Capt. John Appleton
Capt. John Appleton (1622 – 4 November 1699) was born in Little Waldingfield, Suffolk, England to Samuel Appleton and Judith (Everard) Appleton. He married Priscilla (Glover) Appleton. His child was Col. John Appleton. He died in 1699, in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

LOCKED 2026-10-31. Capt. (later Maj.) John Appleton of Ipswich, eldest son of Samuel Appleton; b. 1622 Little Waldingfield, Suffolk; came to Ipswich 1635 with his father; m. Oct 1651 Priscilla, daughter of Rev. Jose Glover; representative 1656-1679; imprisoned 1687 for resisting Andros's taxation; will 16 Feb 1697/8 names sons John (executor) and Samuel; d. 4 Nov 1699 'in his 77th y.' (gravestone).
