Family and the 1901 census
According to a compiled genealogy transcribing parish registers, he was a son of John Izod and Lillian Spencer of Welford-on-Avon.[4] The 1901 census lists his father, John Izod, as a married man of 35 working as a farmer and employer at Rumer Hall, Welford-on-Avon, with his wife Lillian H. Izod, aged 33 and born at Brailes, and a daughter.[2][3] The census spells his mother's name Lillian H. Izod, where the compiled genealogy gives it as Lillian Spencer.[2][4]
