Miriam Blake (born 1788) was born in Bath, Grafton County, New Hampshire. She married Benjamin H. Hadlock. Her children were Hubbard Hadlock, James H. Hadlock and Mary Elizabeth Hadlock.

Early life

A FamilyCentral compilation records Miriam Blake's birth as 1788, "of Bath, Grafton, New Hampshire" (3).[3] WikiTree family notes instead describe her as "of Calais, Vermont," so her origin is not settled (3).[3]

Marriage and family

Miriam Blake married Benjamin H. Hadlock, both of Bath, New Hampshire, on 10 December 1808, according to Bath vital records as printed in a Blake genealogy (2, 4).[2][4] WikiTree family notes identify her as the wife of Benjamin H. Hadlock and the mother of James H. Hadlock and his siblings (1).[1] The couple's children included James H. Hadlock, Mary Elizabeth Hadlock, and Hubbard Hadlock (1, 5, 6, 7).[1][5][6][7] Mary Elizabeth Hadlock was born on 30 July 1811, and Hubbard Hadlock on 21 November 1826, according to a FamilyCentral compilation (6, 7).[6][7] The same compilation listed another child born about 1833, but this conflicts with Benjamin's death in August 1830 and was rejected as a child of the couple (7).[7] Benjamin H. Hadlock died in Waterford, Caledonia County, Vermont, in August 1830, according to a WikiTree parent record for James H. Hadlock (4).[4]
