Paolo Miscione

speculative

Paolo Miscione was born in Vasto, Chieti, Italy. His child was Giovanni Miscione.

Family

The Vasto emigrant register for 1923–1934 records Giovanni Miscione of Brooklyn, New York, as the son of Paolo Miscione, and gives Paolo as already deceased.[1][4]

Possible emigration to New York

A passenger record lists a Paolo Miscione of Vasto, Chieti, Italy, a goldsmith aged 56 and married, who arrived in New York on 31 October 1903 on the Città di Milano, which had departed from Naples.[2] He travelled in steerage carrying 30 dollars, was able to read and write, was travelling to New York, and named his nearest relative as a son in Vasto.[2] The record gives his name as "Fra Paolo Miscione", and whether he is the same man as the father of Giovanni Miscione has not been proven.[2]

Vasto family records

That notice has been treated as circumstantial support for a Miscione family established in Vasto by that date, but it does not on its own connect Paolo Miscione to the family of Giovanni Miscione.[3]
