Marriage and family
The 1950 census listed him in Tarrytown, New York, with his wife Lily Viggiano, then 46 and also born in Italy, and their two sons, aged 17 and 14, both born in New York.[1] An unconfirmed Bronx marriage record dated 29 September 1921 lists a Joseph Viggiano and a spouse whose name is indexed, and a second unconfirmed Bronx record dated 17 November 1918 lists a spouse not indexed; neither record has been established as belonging to this Joseph.[2][4]
Work
The 1950 census recorded his occupation as a shoe repairer working in his own business.[1] In October 1939 he advertised his shop, J. V. Shoe Rebuilding, at 9 South Broadway, Tarrytown, New York.[5]
Later life and death
A death notice for a Viggiano appeared in the Poughkeepsie Journal on 7 June 1989, but its text is not machine-readable and its subject has not been confirmed as this Joseph Viggiano.[3]
