Great Puritan MigrationWalter Harris (1610 – 1656) was a member of the Harris family. He married Mary (Fry) Harris. His child was Gabriel Harris. He died in 1656, in New London, Connecticut.
Immigration and settlement
Walter Harris came to America in 1632 on the ship William and Francis.[1] He settled first in Weymouth and later in New London, Connecticut.[1]
Marriage and family
His wife was Mary Harris, whose maiden name was Fry.[1][3] He had two sons, one of them Gabriel Harris.[1] Gabriel Harris is recorded as a son of Walter Harris the immigrant.[2]
Later life and death
Walter Harris died in 1656, and an inventory of his estate was taken on 14 April 1656.[1] His wife Mary survived him by less than three months.[1]
