Capt. John Denison (14 June 1646 – 1698) was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts to Ann (Borodell) Denison and Capt. George Denison. He married Phebe Lay. His child was George Denison of New London. He died in 1698, in Stonington, Connecticut.
Early life
John Denison was baptised at Roxbury, Massachusetts, on 14 June 1646, the son of Capt. George Denison and Ann (Borodell) Denison.[1] The Denison Genealogy records the date as a baptism, while R. A. Wheeler's History of the Town of Stonington (1900) lists him among the children of George Denison and Ann Borodell as born on 14 July 1646.[1][4] A record of the descendants of George Denison likewise gives his birth as 14 July 1646.[5]
Marriage and family
He married Phebe Lay on 26 November 1667.[1][2] According to the Denison Genealogy, Phebe Lay was born at Saybrook on 5 January 1651 and died in 1699.[1]
