His obituary named Virginia Stumbo as his wife of 74 years and stated that she preceded him in death.[3]
Later life and death
According to his obituary, James Otis Mellenbruch died on June 17, 2015, twenty days short of his one hundred and first birthday, while in the care of the staff at the Bruce McCandless VA care facility.[1]
