Jane Maria Lord (12 June 1831 – 2 July 1896) was born in New York, New York to Edwin Lord, Edwin Lord, Jane Maria Stone and Jane Maria Stone Lord. She married Capt. Millen Griffith. Her children were Millen Griffith, Edwin Lord Griffith and Charles Lord Griffith. She died in 1896, in San Francisco, California.
Early life
Jane Maria Lord was born in New York, New York, on 12 June 1831, the daughter of Edwin Lord and Jane Maria Stone.[10] Her parents, Edwin Lord and Jane Maria Stone, married on 16 June 1830.[8][11]
Marriage and family
She married Millen Griffith on 12 July 1851 in New York.[4] She was the wife of Capt. Millen Griffith and the mother of Charles Lord Griffith.[1] The Lord genealogy records Millen Griffith, born in San Francisco on 12 August 1854 and dead there in 1877, as her son.[6] The same genealogy records Edwin Lord Griffith, born in San Francisco on 13 April 1856 and later dead in Rome, as her son.[7] Charles Lord Griffith, born about 1864 in San Francisco, was recorded as the son of Millen Griffith and Jane Maria Lord.[3]
Later life and death
According to her husband's obituary, she was prominent in San Francisco Episcopal Church circles.[2]
