Marriage and family
Betsey J. Cheever married Reuben George Washington Dodge as his first wife.[1][5] The same town history elsewhere calls Reuben Dodge's first wife Betsey Jackson.[2][3][4][5] By that first wife he had four children, listed as Agnes Ilanette, Anna Gardner, Sarah E. S., and George A. Dodge.[2][3][4][6] Agnes Ilanette Dodge was born December 1, 1849, and died March 22, 1859.[4] Anna Gardner Dodge was born January 17, 1852; she later married and was living at Haverhill, Massachusetts, at the time the history was compiled.[3] Sarah E. S. Dodge was born November 13, 1853.[2] George A. Dodge was born June 16, 1856.[6]
