Ida Theresa Viggiano (Gatto) (née Viggiano) (28 November 1919 – 6 April 1991) was born in Italy to Maria Cristina (Laraia) Viggiano and Joseph Viggiano. She died in 1991.
Early life
Ida Theresa Viggiano was born on 28 November 1919 in Italy.[1] Her Social Security record names her parents as Joseph Viggiano and Christina Laraia.[1][2] That record lists her under three names: Ida Gatto, Ida The Viggiano and Ida Theresa Viggiano.[1] The Laraia family tree pairs Joseph (Giuseppe) Viggiano with Maria Cristina Laraia (1887–1975).[3] Her mother is recorded as Christina Laraia in the Social Security entry and as Maria Cristina Laraia in the Laraia family tree.[1][3]
Parentage
Her placement as a daughter of Joseph Viggiano, a Tarrytown shoemaker, is described as probable but unproven.[2] The records leave unresolved which Joseph Viggiano was her father: the Tarrytown shoemaker or the Joseph Viggiano who died in 1930 at Mount Pleasant.[2][3]
