Maria Cristina (Laraia) Viggiano
née Laraia
Maria Cristina (Laraia) Viggiano (née Laraia) (11 May 1887 – 1975) was born in Viggiano, Potenza, Basilicata, Italy to Leonardo Laraia and Maria Carmela (Cavallo) Laraia. She married Joseph Viggiano. Her children were Francesco Viggiano and Ida Theresa Viggiano (Gatto). She died in 1975, in New York, New York, New York, United States.
Early life
Maria Cristina Laraia was born on 11 May 1887 in Viggiano, Potenza, Basilicata, Italy, according to the Laraia family's public tree.[1] That tree names her parents as Leonardo Laraia and Maria Carmela Cavallo.[7]
Marriage and family
The Laraia family's tree pairs her with Joseph (Giuseppe) Viggiano.[5] The same tree lists Francesco Viggiano as a son of Joseph Viggiano and Maria Cristina Laraia.[6] A Social Security record for a daughter known as Ida Theresa Viggiano names her parents as Joseph Viggiano and Christina Laraia and gives her birth as 28 November 1919 in Italy.[4] The same record and the family tree leave unresolved which Joseph Viggiano was the husband, the Tarrytown shoemaker or the Joseph Viggiano who died in 1930 at Mount Pleasant, and the placement of Ida as a daughter of that household is described as probable but unproven.[4][5]
Later life and death
The Laraia family's tree records her death as November 1975 in New York (Manhattan).[3]
