Helen Lonsdale (née Whittaker) (died 4 June 1952) was a member of the Lonsdale family. She married Herman Lilienthal Lonsdale. Her children were John Whittaker Lonsdale and Whittaker Lonsdale. She died in 1952, in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Marriage and family
According to the Trinity alumni history, Hermann Lilienthal married Miss H. Whittaker at Newport, Rhode Island, on October 1, 1889.[2][4] The alumni history gives the bride only as "Miss H. Whittaker", while the 1952 Episcopal necrology identifies Helen Lonsdale as the widow of the Rev. Herman L. Lonsdale, so her identity as Helen Whittaker is probable rather than directly stated in a single record.[3] The alumni history spells the husband's name "Hermann Lilienthal", and the necrology gives it as "Herman L."[1][2] A New York Times announcement identifies John Whittaker Lonsdale as the son of the Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Lonsdale.[5]
Later life and death
The Episcopal necrology reports that Helen Lonsdale died on June 4 at Greenwich, Connecticut, and describes her as the widow of the Rev. Herman L. Lonsdale.[1]
